January 2010 York
Proper snowy winter in York. A real picture postcard feel to the Christmas holidays. The snow has remained on the ground for weeks.
June 2009 Scampston Hall
The office trip to the perennial garden designed by Piet Oudolf. So pretty, nice food too!
February 2009 Old Street
The Old Street Promenade of Light in London by the architects Tonkin Liu. Perhaps I should have seen it at night? Interesting, for the circular benches and bar-like tables, set out in an avenue, giving a Ramblas feel to the space.
February 2009 Road Trip
Thanks to everyone who put me up/put up with me. In no particular order: Mark, Jane, Jo, Mary, Noel and Viv, Emma, Bridget, Paul and Hooli. York - Birmingham - Exeter - Stonehenge - London and back to York.
April 2009 Whitby
The legendary Spring Gothic Weekend in Whitby. Not as full on as the main halloween date, but never the less a wonderful opportunity to watch the lovely people dedicated to the dark art of looking fabulous.
June 2008 my favourite dead tree
If you had to design a dead tree, for that shot in your horror movie illumintaed by lightening strobes, or the scene where the hobbits turn the corner at sunset and view the deolation of Hobbiton, this is what the tree would look like.
I spotted it many years ago on my way to the Welsh coast somewhere round Oswestry, finally managing to stop and get some photos this summer. Thank goodness, for the tidy farmer has since cleared it away.
